How we collect, use, and protect your information

Last updated: June 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DisasterMutt ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our dog-training platform and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account & profile information

  • Name, email address, and profile photo
  • Phone number
  • Home address (street, city, state, ZIP) and housing type
  • Emergency contact name and phone number
  • Household details you choose to provide — household size, whether children live in the home and their ages, and other pets in the home
  • Any special accommodations you tell us about

Information about your dog(s)

  • Name, breed, age, weight, sex, color, and photos
  • Diet, allergies, medical conditions, and medications
  • Behavioral history, including any history of bites involving people or other dogs, and training goals

Service & content data

  • Appointments, class registrations, training journals, homework, comments, and messages you exchange with trainers
  • Photos and videos you upload (e.g. training-video submissions)
  • Purchase and credit history for class packages

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We retain a record of your purchases, amounts, and Stripe transaction identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the training Service
  • To schedule appointments and classes, and to deliver training feedback, homework, and journals
  • To keep you and our trainers safe — for example, bite history and medical information help trainers handle your dog appropriately
  • To process payments and manage class credits
  • To communicate with you about your account, appointments, and the Service
  • To diagnose problems and improve the Service

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database and file/photo/video storage

These providers process your information on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account at any time. When your account is deleted, we remove your profile and the personal information associated with it — including your dogs' records, appointments, messages, uploaded photos and videos, journals, and homework.

To request deletion, contact us at info@disastermutt.com.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and private storage for uploaded media. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Information about children in your household is collected only from you, the account holder, and only to the extent you choose to provide it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact Us
